Upgrading ICT Excellence by Strengthening Cooperation Between Research Teams in an Enlarged Europe

The UNITE Scientific Workshop is organized within the frame of  S3T 2011 Conference and is devoted to the EU-FP7 UNITE project: UpgradiNg ICT excellence by strengthening cooperationbetween research Teams in an enlarged Europe.
UNITE is an EU-FP7 coordination support action with available funding to increase the level of excellence of ICT research across an Enlarged Europe, in the ICT Challenge 1 theme“Pervasive and Trustworthy Network and Service Infrastructures”, focusing on Enterprise Interoperability(EI), Enterprise Software Applications (ESA), and the novel research domains of the “Future of theInternet”by promoting active secondment to research teams and strengthening cooperation in the research domains of the "Future of the Internet".

Workshop Objectives:

  • To identify and discuss the advanced research topics within the Future Internet (FI) domains:
    • Internet of Services (IoS),
    • Internet of Things (IoT)
    • Other areas from the Future of Internet (oFI) - Network of the future, 3D and Media Internet, Trustworthy ICT;
  • To present best practices and successful research methodologies in the Future Internet area;
  • To meet experienced researchers and learn from their scientific, research and organizational insights;
  • To establish collaborations for future research projects;
  • To establish relationships for networking and synergies with other European research projects and teams in the field of Future Internet;
  • To present the opportunities for receiving research grants from the UNITE project in the Future Internet area.

Workshop Format: The workshop will feature a series of invited presentations and a round table discussion “Innovative FI research areas and Future ICT calls cooperation“. The presentations include:
